From the Head of School

‍‍‍Our American curriculum offers Advanced Placement (AP) for students seeking a college education in the United States. We also help Korean students who wish to pursue a college education in Korea.

ICSU is a faith-based Christian school. Every teacher at ICSU is a licensed teacher, but more than that, each teacher is also a Christian, who is keenly interested in your child as a person. ICSU teachers are able to provide a perspective of education from a Biblical worldview, where moral values and compassion are key concepts.

ICSU students are enthusiastically engaged in their learning, supported by well-trained and caring teachers who work in partnership with parents to ensure the very best opportunities for every child. The ICSU community embraces both our common focus on internationally minded students and the diverse range of unique cultural, religious, and experiential experiences of our families. ICSU fosters a respect for diversity that prepares our students for participation‍‍‍ in a complex and changing world.

Our school has embraced a wide-range of technologies. We are a 1:1 school, where every kindergarten to grade three student has a dedicated iPad and every grade four to twelve student has a dedicated Chromebook. Every classroom has smartboards with WiFi connected projection capabilities for teacher and student devices. All grade levels and subjects use “blended learning” where classroom content is delivered and available electronically using Schoology, a learning management system. High school students learn HTML programming and all students develop a wide range of technology skills. We prepare our students for the 21st Century work environment.

ICSU also offers a full range of activities beyond the classroom. Students have the opportunity to participate in enrichment activities such as art, computer programming, forensics speech and debate, Korean language, Mandarin language, performing arts, robotics, and several sports. ICSU is a long-standing member of KAIAC (Korean-American Interscholastic Activities Conference), competing in basketball, cross-country, soccer, and volleyball.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about ICSU. While no website can completely capture the dynamic environment that defines this unique school, I hope that your exploration will provide you a taste of the engaging activities that our students experience on a daily basis and convince you to visit us in person at our campus in Uijeongbu, a northern suburb of Seoul, Korea.
